At Gemlist, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

We collect minimal information to provide and improve our service:

Usage data - pages visited, time spent, interactions with program listings

Device information - browser type, operating system, screen resolution

Newsletter email - only if you voluntarily subscribe

Voting data - stored locally in your browser, not linked to your identity

We do not collect personal information unless you explicitly provide it (e.g., subscribing to our newsletter).

2. How We Use Your Information

Improve site functionality and content relevance

Understand which programs creators find most useful

Send newsletter updates (only if subscribed - you can unsubscribe anytime)

Monitor site performance and fix technical issues

We never sell your data. We never share personally identifiable information with third parties for marketing purposes.

3. Cookies & Analytics

We use two analytics tools to understand site usage patterns:

Google Analytics / Firebase — industry-standard analytics (may use cookies). Data processed by Google.

Rybbit — self-hosted analytics running on our own infrastructure. No third-party data sharing.

These tools collect pseudonymous usage data, including:

An anonymous browser ID (random UUID stored in your browser, not linked to your identity)

First-touch campaign attribution, including traffic source, campaign parameters, referrer domain, and landing page

Page paths, URL campaign parameters, and interactions with program listings. Our custom event payloads are designed to avoid personal information.

You can disable cookies or use an ad blocker to opt out. The site continues to work normally without analytics.

4. Third-Party Links

Gemlist links directly to creator program websites. When you click "Apply Now," you leave Gemlist and enter the program's website. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.

We recommend reviewing each program's own privacy policy before submitting personal information.

5. Data Retention

Retention varies by system:

Google Analytics / Firebase — up to 14 months per Google's default retention policy, then automatically deleted by Google.

Self-hosted Rybbit — retained only as long as operationally needed on our own servers; no fixed expiry imposed by a third party.

Newsletter email — retained until you unsubscribe.

Voting data — stored only in your browser's local storage; we have no server-side copy.

6. Your Rights

Request deletion of your newsletter subscription at any time

Opt out of analytics tracking via browser settings or ad blockers

Clear voting data by clearing your browser's local storage

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We won't make material changes without notice.
